5 Ways to Plan a Date Night at Home
As the world continues to be affected by COVID-19, more and more people across the world continue to be asked to stay home. These stay-at-home orders are affecting millions of people and forcing people to completely rethink of their way of doing things. It's time to shelve your outside tasks and chores like looking at real estate, (housing for sale in Indianapolis is shockingly tempting), or even going to the grocery store, and instead hunker down in your home.
However one thing you don't need to sacrifice is your date night! There are several date night ideas that you can use for the perfect romantic night indoors with your S/O. If you're not attached like me or can't see your bae, you can turn any of these ideas into a fun family night or call up your friends over Facetime and have a virtual date night!
Here are 5 ways to plan a date night at home:
1. Trivia Night
A really cute way to spend your home date night is by setting up a trivia night. The idea is not only a great way to spend your night, but also is a great way to see how much you know about your partner and learn new things. You can set up a trivia game relating to questions about your life and relationship. Whoever answers the most questions correctly, wins the game! The idea requires little setup and preparation and is a great way to spend your date night.
2. Card Games and Board Games
A very classic way to spend a night indoors is to unplug and play board and card games! While you may be limited in your options with only two people, that doesn’t mean that you can’t find a game that works. There are plenty of two-player games out there that can provide plenty of laughs and memories. Just be careful to not get too competitive! If you're playing with more than 2 players, it'll bound to be fun and competitive! Let me know some of your favourite games to play at home!
3. Movie Night
A classic way to spend your date night indoors is turning on a great movie. Microwave some popcorn, get some drinks of choice and candy, and snuggle up in a blanket on the couch. Today there is a huge selection of movies available online, allowing you and your partner to watch whatever your hearts desire. Just be sure that you both agree on the movie before you start watching. Having a movie night requires little to no effort at all, and can be a great way to keep you and your partner entertained for hours. Take it up a notch and create a cozy little fort to make it extra cute and romantic!
4. Romantic Dinner
Another truly classic way to spend your date night is with a romantic dinner. While the traditional idea of a romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant might not be possible, that doesn’t mean that you can’t pull it off. In fact, you can even make your date night even more romantic by having it indoors. You and your partner can actually engage in cooking the meal together and setting everything up, something that can make the dinner even more personalized and romantic. Light some candles and pour the wine. You can’t go wrong with a romantic dinner, as it is truly a classic!
5. Arts and Crafts
I've been wanting to do this for a long time! It may not be the first idea that comes to mind, but making arts and crafts with your partner, family or friends can actually be a great way to spend your date night. There are a wide variety of options you can go with, including painting, drawing, and crafting. You and your partner may dedicate the date night to trying to create a homemade gift for each other, or you may try to make the same thing and turn it into a friendly competition. Regardless of how you choose to go about it, using arts and crafts can be a cute and fun way to spend your home date night. And unleash your inner Bob Ross!
